Map of the hotel area and Montazah Palace. The water is the Mediterranean Sea. Salamlek is the men's guest house where we had dinner the other night. The gardens are beautiful and quite extensive. I walked around them last night and clocked about 3 miles around the perimeter.

  1. Hi Dr. B,

We had a great day at school today; we look forward to seeing you on Friday! Today, we learned about Martin Luther King, Jr. and how to multiply. It has been a great (some kids say "long") day! Thank you for answering our questions!

Are you enjoying being in Egypt? (Delaney)

Do you have hopspitals there? (Hannah)

Are there accidents there? Do people wreck often? (Haileigh)

What is the percentage there will be a sandstorm? 50? 100? (AJ- in his exact words)

Do people see mirages in the desert? (Sawyer)

We think it's so cool that you travel the world! Thank you for your replies; we look forward to them everyday.

    Love,
    Mrs. Horton's Class

  2. Delaney: I have really enjoyed being here in Egypt but I am starting to get homesick. I look forward to being back at school on Friday.
Hannah: Yes they do have many hospitals here. They are called moustashfa in Arabic.
Haileigh: There are a lot of wrecks because there are so many cars on the streets. The arabic word for wreck is hadsa.
AJ: I am not sure about the percentage of having a sandstorm. The wind often quickly comes up and creates a sandstorm.
Sawyer: I know I have read about it and seen it in movies *(mirages) but I have not see one myself!
Mrs. Horton: Thank you for keeping your class involved in my trip. I love their questions!
    DrB
